Procurement plays an essential part in the delivery of public services. Public procurement is that of goods and services on behalf of Government-agencies; this makes up approximately 20 - 40% of the GDP in a developing country like Fiji and also accounts for a substantial part of the global economy.
The Fiji Procurement office has been established under the Procurement Regulation 2010 on the 1st of August 2010, with the aim of reducing wastage and eliminating fraudulent-activities whilst promoting the following objectives:
Previous Tender Boards and their regulations have been amalgamated into one entity/legislation in an effort to centralise procurement in Government. Reforms are ongoing in an endeavor to further embrace the goals outlined above!
