The Department's Energy Information programs include:

     The Fiji National Energy Statistics

Fiji National Energy Statistics (FNES) is a publication including detailed data tables, indicators and analysis that summarize the energy supply and demand situation in Fiji. Available data should include:

    ·    Summary of energy flows and useful indicators

    • Import and consumption of petroleum fuels

    • Electricity generation and use

    • Energy balance tables

The Department is currently in the process of compiling the Fiji National Energy Statistics (FNES) for the years of 2000 to 2004. These are likely to be publicly available by the April 2006

An historical summary of the data for the years 1993 to 2000 is available by clicking on the link below. It should be noted that the year 2000 is being recalculated in the current project and it is likely that some revisions to other years will also occur.

1993-2000 - REVIEW OF ENERGY SECTOR DATA : A   COMMENTARY

    The Energy Information System (EIS)

The EIS is an in-house database held by the DOE to effectively manage the wide range of data from it’s various ongoing and ad-hoc projects. The DOE attempts to constantly update this database as part of it’s day to day work program, so that information is up to date and useful. The database was first implemented in 2004 with upgrades expected by 1st quarter 2006 . Information from the database may be provided to the public upon request.

    The Department’s Website

Department of Energy is as part of it’s ongoing public information campaign, hosts this web site. This website www.fdoe.gov.fj allows access information  to general public on  energy related issues in Fiji.

    Additional Public Awareness programs
