A Progress of GIS at NDMO
The National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) is a governmental section which is responsible for the disaster management in Fiji. It was pointed out that the NDMO should have an effective geometrical information system (GIS) for disaster management in Fiji.
NDMO decided to start a project in 2007 to develop a new GIS, which was aimed to build up an integrated GIS combining the usual GIS with all other databases relating the disaster management.
Though during the years from 2007 to 2009 a little progress in GIS was made, the development of GIS has been restarted since 2010 with the aid of JICA.
